The Pluriverse

Problems: Geopolitical upheaval. Economic uncertainty. Natural disasters. Technological disruption. Chaos.   

The hegemonic monomyth of infinite growth on a finite planet have brought us to the verge of planetary collapse--variously called 'pluricrisis' or 'metacrisis'. 

The polycrisis requires a pluriversal response. A pluriverse eschews the myth of the universal and proposes a vision of 'a world where many worlds fit.' Myriad narratives, diverse epistemologies, ontologies, and cosmologies intersect and entwine to form an entangled, pluriversal world.

The edge narratives deliberately delegitimized, rendered invisible, and forcefully suppressed hold the seeds of possible futures . They honor the reality of our profoundly interconnected and deeply relational planetary existence.

Pluriversality is a vision of possible futures not constrained by a single narrative. The emerging futures lie at the intersection and interstices of myriad diverse narratives, and are essentially post-growth and post-anthropocentric. In this context, it behooves organizations and leaders to build the capacities desperately needed to participate in the co-creation of possible futures that are regenerative.
